Yeh, hopefully I wont hit the box on the ground.
Here's a little custom mirror action as I was bored waiting for more primer to come in.
I wanted some thing a little different and went for a hang down mount. Used 10mm stainless rod and 25mm flat bar to make it up.
Started with a template
Image
stainless flat bar cut into shape
Image
Backing plate slotted in behind and plug welded in
Image
weld back up
Image
Bend rod and mirror in place
Image
Door swings open with out hitting the mirror too :)

Bit of a change from the body, went for the one eyed duck this time ;)

Don't want to screw into the front panel so going the earth magnet method.
First off dremel out the back of it
Image
Earth magnet inner mount
Image
run a stainless bolt though and fasten the mount then insert the magnet.
Image
Add a little black rtv silicone to the under side to protect the paint work and Job done, these little suxers take a heap of pull to remove!!

Had a ride in a split bus earlier in the week that had set and yeah I think they might be next on the shopping list.

Ended up getting the creative ones from the busstop not cheap but good quality and they now are alloy welded hinges not glued like in the past.
