Re: 58 DD Panel
I will chuck that up when I get a chance.. Haven't posted a pic in awhile.
Got the new starter all fitted finally took awhile to get it!!
Nah it blew off a radiator hose twice. So working out why it keeps doing it. Seems to be a pressure issue.
It's off the road yet again... Will be sorted this week

Haha, yeah it's been on a few tow trucks.
I've since joined racq!!!
Electrical problems and cooling issues with the pipes/pressure.
Sorted now. Heading to Byron on Friday so let's see how that goes.
Will get some pics and chuck em up

Y'know, electrical hassles aside I think it's important to remember that this is where you started.....
And this is what it looks like now......
That alone is astounding.

Re: 58 DD Panel
Do you have the system fully released of air with a high enough overflow tank as this was the biggest drama I had with my conversion as ended up running the orig subi tank with all lines hooked up an never had any problems afte that

Re: 58 DD Panel
Yeah it was bled so there was no air.
Maybe not a high enough overflow tank tho.
It has blown off 3 hoses on 3 trips each on the highway.
We put on extra clamps on hoses and a release cap for the overflow, drive it yesterday through Brisbane no real problems but when I hit the highest the temperature gauge flew up and the cap was pissing out water as the pressure was building up..
The thermo fans are working.. Someone suggested they maybe on the wrong way..
Fucks me... I need a holiday

Have you tried the hole in thermostat trick and have you looped the heater pipes ?

Yep all that's been done. Trying a different scoop on the front of the radiator. Seems like it's only getting real hot on the highway when the revs are up.
Because it's lowered now the scoop used may not be working like it should.

Re: 58 DD Panel
Loose the lower scoops and tilt the rad so air hits it and can actually flow thru , yours being so close to the floor can't pass air thru it no matter how many fans you have or run 2 smaller rads between chassis like the merc or rotary oil coolers just a little bigger

Re: 58 DD Panel
The cooling is all sorted and thanks for all the help. Changed the scoop on the radiator and the air is flowing nicely and it's keeping it cool on the highway.
Fix one problem then another arises driving it around the other day and now I can't get third and fourth gear. Think it's just an adjustment thing but will have to check it out another day when I have time.
