Looks fantastic Grant
Noticed you have two different stud patterns on the bus.Are you going to convert the rear to wide 5 or change the front to bay PCD.

you can easily change the rears back to wide 5 if youd rather keep the classic look (just get some late split drums machined to fit)

looking forward to seeing more of the build on this one, reminds me of my 55 - lots of similar work to be done 8)

OK, would I just or do I just machine the inside of the drum?

Bit of an update!
slow process on this one so far...too much to do on the house!!!
Just stripping him down a little, started on the front beam!
Took it out and remove the drums and link & King pins and gave it a decrease then a pressure wash. Then took to it with a wire wheel and gave it a paint!
going to send off the K & L pins to get flipped!

Then took to the roof to get rid of all the old multi-layer paint thats on him!

Did the old paint stripper thing, worked well with the crap paint but didnt touch the OG paint!
Took a Square metre right back to bare metal but prob should have stopped at OG paint when I think about it now. Just wanted to make sure i have ALL the rust out of this old man!!

You can see all the file marks from when he was built...awesome to know that some dude did this in 1955 at Wolfsburg factory..
These file marks are over the head vent up front!

Just wax it like that Grant. Bit of history on show. Then paint from the gutters down.

Um... Not sure about that. It will be bare metal so will take a moment to consider it when it's all bare metal!

No sense of adventure Grant. I am taken with it at the moment. Saw a nice split recently bare with clear. Not sure about whole but roof could work.

Not that I would consider it on mine but you can
