This is a really good method for removing top layers of shitty old paint, Thanks Ozjeff and Frankencab for the tip. Although it takes 30 times longer on a cold afternoon with no sun. Sometimes I get impatient and just want to get the job done, You need heat to help that's forsure.
Ass end complete, Top layers came off with ease although the grey primer in between top blue and original paint was stubborn.
There has also been a minor repair done at some stage
The side panels have had multiple paint jobs including another greener variant of dove blue, although, 85% of the OG paint was all underneath. The door tops inc cargo door tops came up really well
And the front, Its had work done on it in the past. I have found the lower 4 inches slapped with bog and has crusty metal.
So the lower 6 or so will be replaced, red oxide, and maybe blown in
I have taken back the paint on most panels now, except the roof - not looking forward to that part and still have the short side left to do. After that is complete I will give it a 2000 rub wet and sort out any other imperfections before i give it a buff and eventually ankor wax. Cheers, Darren
