depending how low you go you need to grind a little off the bottom of the arms too.

Hi Guys, Benn slowly chipping away at the bus. TIP - 7 month old & 3 year old + work + life + Land makes it bloody hard to get kombi time.!!

Its been sanding and sanding lately, got the cargo doors looking good even after re skinning the bastards the amount of time to get them straight was unreal. Engine lid was pretty good with s small bit of rust to cut out and the rear hatch would have been perfect If i hadn't sand blasted it. The skin sank in between the frame and took some relief cuts and new supports to get right.

This was the best panel i have bought. Auto craft have got these valances down perfect. A bot of skimmer on the spot welds and she's all the go.

Back end coming together.

Cheers mate, No wonder there are so many rats around. This body work has got knobs on it! i just trial fitted the cargo doors again for the 2nd time, not sure whats happening but the gaps are all up the shit…. The front cargo has seemed to grow by 5 mm, must be all the good grass around here! I will post pics soon.

Back again, Been slowly but surely plugging away sanding, shaping, hammering, drinking, sanding ect ext and have finally come to a point where the body work is pretty close. i am going to block one final time then wet rub. I am still on track for paint in Feb/March.

Also just picked up this 1776cc freshly built (locally) engine. New case, barrels piston, heads, carbs, exhaust and only has done 800km. Still running it in. It came in a 71 super beetle which I sold. I have never driven (or even sat in) a bug before so I had a fun couple of days out racing around the hills in Tassie before I pulled the motor out!!!! The CSP Python exhaust is for sale for $800.00 if any one is interested. Retail at about $1300.00.

Coming along nicely have you worn the skin off your fingers from all the sanding.Why not use the csp exhaust. Won't it fit. I have a vintage speed one I'm not using if you are interested.

He said if you really want that style then go with the pressed metal collar on to the alloy pulley version.

crack between the holes, and the oil groove not deep enough either..
