Re: 1962 resto !
Cheers for feed back !
Yeah that blue was shit and was a bitch to get off was thick and really baked on!
Plans are to fix all rust just buying mig etc in next few days, then get body ready for paint . Then the paint. That will keep me busy for a while and give me a chance to research and get advice on rest of bus , ie engine , suspension.
Initial thoughts were crate motor from states , sticking with kombi engine with approx 2ltr.
Suspension I liked the red9 bolt in stuff front and rear but there pricey and not sure with getting them engineered in nsw. Might look at easier cheaper options.
I still have all parts to complete bus so will try revamp a lot of original parts to keep that original character. But would like it sitting lower with a nice set of rims.
I have just started buying some auto craft panels so will see how they fit in , looking forward to getting the big girl moving forward.
Cheers jack

I would talk to rod pen rose before importing an engine, not much more $ and at least you have service if something goes wrong
Its a well known fact an OG SC will always be worth more than a DC with a checker plate tray, towel rails and PINK plates

Re: 1962 resto !
I would have a chat to Rod Penrose first as you'll get a good motor from him
If your going to buy from the states check these guys out http://shop.powerhausvwparts.com/2110cc ... 2332LB.htm

Re: 1962 resto !
Hi.
Got some progress pics to show , progress has been slow as I had to save up for welder , air compressor etc but she is on the move again!!!
Purchased rotisserie then fabricated brackets then mounted. Can spin it and pin it on my own so happy with that.
Now the rust repairs can begin underneath

Re: 1962 resto !
If you want to do basic suspention to get it on the rd just fit adjusters to beam and flip spindles , lower the redux hubs , straight axle or IRS ..plenty of options to suit a budget ..great starting base though
Straight axle is better than IRS
