66' 11 Window Sunday split
Hi,
Here's some pictures of my splitty its a 1966. It's getting some metal work done at the moment. Used to be an ex Sunday school bus in pearl white. I'm going to get it done in swr/beige grey eventually. It's also getting a reco 'd 1600 engine, and a L bug gearbox.
Also, can someone tell me which year the rear air vents went into two sections? I thought it was 67' but the m plate on this is 66'?
Cheers

So does mine.Cam Arnott wrote:My 67 has the same vents as yours
Understand model year commenced in August of preceding year. So anything including & after August 1966 is deemed to be a 1967 model year. You should have a chassis number beginning with 23 if it's a standard kombi. Throw your chassis number up & one of the resident gurus on here will be able to give you a good idea when your bus was built.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Planned build date Sept. 1965. I'm getting it imported from SA so maybe a different design? Ah well, it's all good. Another splitty to Aus.

The radio cut out hole & fuel filler further suggests it is not a 67.
Given it's a South African bus, does it follow that South Africa got the upper twin vents before we did in Oz Seems plausible...
