And......time to take the roof off, there is too much to properly repair in the gutter areas with the roof on , the front 'a' pillar area also needs access from the top to be repaired properly.
It took 2 hrs from start to roof on floor of garage. I cut with a 1mm blade just inside the welds in the gutters through just the turret layer of steel, the welds are more than just spot welds so unpicking this area was not possible. I then ran the 1mm blade through the rusted out brace on the inside on the roof to separate properly, this brace is 2.5 meters long on either side of the roof, it needed replacing most so no loss. this brace is spot welded to the roof turret on one side, and to the inside gutter on the other.

I remember not that long ago, we all used to think the pom's were nutters when we saw what they were fixing up. we are now in the same position, the majority of busses left out there are all stuffed and need major surgery. welcome to the nut house! to think back over the busses i've walked away from and broken up for bugger all money, crazy!
it’s got nuffin to do wiv yer “vor sprung Durch technic” ya know!

The roof turret is in really good nick but it has a few holes in it from roof racks so it allowed the w ater into the gutters. This is by far the worst bit of the bus so decided to tackle it first. I think i will enjoy the metalwork, once i get to the paint prep stage thats when the alcohol bill skyrockets!
