A long 7 years
We bought this bus in August 2008 and after 7 years it is now getting close....
I tell people that my 'vision' or 'goal' was to make it something that could have been a factory prototype in the mid 60's.
The truth of it is more likely that it is a few ideas I have seen done by others and liked (yes - including the Foose build - check the old thread on that one!) , combined with my favourite split features over the years, and a good dose of original ideas and customisation included.
I am sure it will annoy purists, and even more so the rat / patina fans.
The Mammoth Bus is truly epic and inspired me to push on with all of the hassles involved in a bus that isn't exactly 'off the shelf'. I have done far less of this myself. Read that build thread if you landed here.
One day the long and the fat may ride together and be proud

Having had a 1916 pobjoy motor in my ute I knew I needed some extra 'motivation' over a standard motor.

Colours look great Nick. And I thought you had been sleeping on this one RVW style.
No matter what happens they can't take you out in the street and shoot you......

Yes. I always thought that the proportions of the 'drop sills' look good for a stretched bus - one of the main attractions when I bought it.FrankenCab wrote:Was this van winkle ..Kimms old bus..guessing by the "drop sills" ..a lot of real estate to block sand good job to the body work guy
