64 panel
I picked up this 64 from Sam hutch (Aussie Kombi hunter) about 10 months ago, he found it in the dessert in South Australia, it had a engine fire and was parked up in about 1984, steel above engine and rear roof all rusted out due to the fire, parts of the floor also, standard rust repairs but not to bad considering it hasn't moved since 84, my plan was to keep it rat slam it and logo it up for my business, I think it's come along good and should have it finishe and regoed this month

Re: 64 panel
I wanted it to match my other buses so hit it with a spray can and rubbed it back, it's ruff but that's what I was going for, shop logos will be hand painted on the side soon, and the white wall flappers will be changed back to just white, not a fan of the red

Re: 64 panel
Went over the wiring, bus had the OG key rusted into the ignition, but of wd40 got that out sanded up the fuses run power and bang lights worked dash lit up, got the 1600 in replaces the main power to the started and it fired, I was pretty surprised the wiring worked at all, the 1600 had low compression on number 3 and a slight knock so I'm hoping it's just a sticky valve from sitting around or bent rod maybe, eather way I picked up a good running beetle this week to swap it out, I finishe all the interior yesterday. Still need to wire in stereo and some light, finish the brakes and one outrigger and its rego time

Amazing transformation from dumped, rusted, engine fire Kombi to alive and rolling!
Great work!
Great work!
My Dad's Kombi circa 1967 at Taronga Zoo. I'm the light weight with the skinny legs, my older brother is doing the roof jump!
