Re: 57 Resto
They are the original metal ones still in the box (does anyone know when they started and stopped making Rossi's?). I tried to ask the guy who sold them to me if there was a back story to them but he never got back to me? One of the best things about resto's taking a long time is you find these little gems along the way.

Re: 57 Resto
Got the box back from Dave Butler during the week, overhauled, converted to IRS and ready to go. Will give the outside a blast and paint in gunmetal once trial fit has been done.
More progress on the body work, looks evil with the black background!

Re: 57 Resto
Although I haven't posted in a while the work has continued getting the body straight. Everything below the gutters is now done and ready for a spray coat of polyester to ensure it is as smooth as. Next will be the gutter repairs and then smoothing out the roof.

Re: 57 Resto
Make sure you mount the topdoor frames and rubber before you call the door gaps done. I didnt and it was a big mess later as the rubber pushes the doors down and the gaps goes to shit.57Bus wrote:Although I haven't posted in a while the work has continued getting the body straight. Re: 57 Resto
Here are some more progress pics, gutter repairs being done.
A bit of pitting was found on the inner/outer rear turret so it was cut out and replaced with fresh metal.
Great to see the wheels back on her.
Roof dents removed with a shrinking hammer, then the smoothing process begins. You don't realise the amount of real estate that the roof takes up!

Re: 57 Resto
More pic's, slowly getting there.
Seat belt mounting points now in.
Going for a shorty seat in the middle so some work was needed to move the anchor points to suit 3 legs rather than 4.
Entire bus sprayed with the high build and rubbed back, next step is the undercoat.
