Hey guys
After 18 years of owning Kombi's I finally have a split
All I need now is a lotto win to get it on the road.
It's was advertised as a '57 but turned out to be around April '56. I've been reading a thread on the samba on how to tell if it's a Wolfsburg or a Hannover bus. I think it's a Wolfsburg not that it makes much difference.
The bus needs a fair bit fixing up underneath, the body is pretty good. I tried a of 1500 wet/dry on the weekend it came up a treat. It was a real treat to see the original paint looking so good
I look forward to meeting some of you fine people
Thanks
Kav
I'll post some pics when I get a chance
G'day from Gold Coast

Plan... Win the lotto
Well fix up the underneath jacking points cross members etc and the lower front and leave it original paint for now, I wish all of the body had old paint, some parts have surface rust.
I'll have to ankawax the surface rusty bits or maybe blend it.
It came with an industrial 36hp, I'm thinking I'll run that for a while just to get the authentic feel of a split lol. Not sure that will last long before I need a few more horses. I had a '58 bug for 4 years as my daily, running a 36hp. Life in the slow lane
My current daily is 71 bay 1600, veedubs really are a great life style, the missus and I camped all weekend in it up on the tweed, loaded up with SUP's and our push bikes and then Monday comes back around and back to being my daily happy days
