August 1954 RHD Barndoor

Post by gazztan »

I never thought I'd get the opportunity to own a barndoor.
Thanks Leon for providing the opportunity, I'm hoping to continue on the good work you've already done and do the bus justice.
First job accomplished, get the old girl home in one piece, Brisbane to Adelaide.
Need to decide whether to keep as much original dove blue as possible and blend repairs, or go with a restoration.
Will keep you updated!!

Cheers!!

Cheers Matty!! Had to sell the DC to get her, please forgive me haha.

Splitbus, I'm plannng on keeping as much original paint as possible and blending in the repairs. Upgrade everything else and drop a few inches. :D
Been flat out working on a 65 chevy lately but should be able to get stuck into her next month.

Cheers!!

Hi GottaSplit,

Unfortunatley I don't have too much to report mate. I've managed to accumulate all the green panels I need so just need to continue on with the sheet metal work.
Working full time and building a new shed last year has put all projects on hold for the time being.

I did make a start on her and was hoping to have the body work done by now........a good mate of mine who's an excellent metal man has unfortunately decided to hit the piss and is no longer available.
I've got a 65 chevy to finish first as she is my daily driver. Once that's done I can start on the barndoor but it's going to be a few months yet. I'll get there but it'll have to wait its turn.
Thanks for the interest mate!!
Cheers!!
