Re: pg/sg 55
Great post regarding the steering box rebuild - Just started mine so it has been be a great help.
Do you happen to know if your engineering guy trimed the the lever shaft on a lathe? Or just buffed it.
Cheers
Peter

95% sure on a lathe or similar, he's an old school guy so has a shed of cast iron presses and lathes to do this sort of work. Buffing it wouldn't of brought it up as good as it did

Re: pg/sg 55
3 years since last post.
Found a -20- 55 motor for it with correct parts, needed to find a couple of small things but it's complete now.
seriously i just did an oil change and cleaned the plugs. scraped out the sludge from where my finger could fit around the sump plate.
didnt touch the points, clearances or anything.
the pump even worked. needed to bypass the og line to the pump, it had holes.
got fuel into the carb, then cranked away with the crank handle.
then this happened.

Og drinks tray.
55 box and beam to build up for it. These are one of a couple too..
Found all 3 rows of og material.... but
Went another way and got new matt Miller covers for the new frames.
Even got the correct colour interior off matt too, pics don't do justice due to lighting.
Even got it on a rotisserie, but it's sagged from the bulkhead been out of it. Damn.
Now for the jewel of the bus, 5 years to find!
Need to move a car to get the bus in the shed to start the body, and get it on suspension again..

I did find another set but the postage outweighed the actual cost of them and wasn't worth the effort.
