Thanks mate, I could narrow/low/big motor/straight axle/irs/bj beam / dropped spindles, but then it would look the same as most buses out there now. Bored with low an after havin my ute love stock again

Was dreading this job from day 1.
Smashed safari meant pull the frame apart.
Soaked the frame sides in diesel for a month a side to penetrate the screws/joins.

Didn't help, so had to drill an heat. Lots of patience and manipulation finally payed off an apart it came!!




Another bad thing I found. Hinge has snapped in places, so there will need to be more heat and manipulation to sort that out..

I have just been through the same thing, no heat mate, my frame fell away, the tiny wire inside the hinge after 60 years was stuffed. I just put one half of the hinge in the vise, got a nice old fishing knive and a hammer and gently prized the little round bits open a poofteenth then got a tiny punch and gently taped the wire enough to get the vise grips on it then hit gently the vise grips with a hammer and they all came out... and the only wire I found that fitted was coat hanging wire perfect for the job. the hinge on the frame you have to drill the welds out and remove that part as you can access the rounds to get the wire out... then put back together... all great fun, lots of patience

I'll be saving them, don't u worry about that! Have plans to make them last another 60 years!

Noticednon the other one the seals were hard and shrunk, didn't want to do this either but guess I have to.

Now I have a template to make another one, or prob replace both so there's no scratches.

I did it super careful so I wouldn't break the glass, it's visurit glass too not sekurit so harder to find.

I've wore wheeled and sealed off the other one already, then will get onto this one 2moro.

Taped after cleaning to keep og paint clean.


All black an hopefully sealed to last another 60 years.
