Sorry not much of an update on Walter. Still waiting on the parts I need to come into stock to finish off the cargo floor area. In the mean time seems the Senator has developed quite a bit of a blow by and oil burn so its engine out and rebuild time before it lets go in a big way. Have decided to try and have a go at rebuilding it myself, and since its out, I may as well step up the power a little, thinking around 700hp should be possible which will be fun on the street. Might be good practice anyway as i would like to maybe have a go at building the engine for the Kombi when the time comes. I have just managed to source the right stainless bolts to make up the front door hinge pins for Gordon and mine though though, so will get to have a go at that soon.

Lol, that would be fun. But already have one temperamental scary monster, with the kombi i want as reliable and easy to work on as I can get

Well i am sad to report its hit a road block. The engine rebuild on the Senator is taking forever, and unfortunately it means the Senator is in the shed alongside the Kombi with no engine so i cant move it. So I cant get at the Kombi to work on it. Coupled with that is i am still waiting on the new panels. One good thing though is means we have been able to save a little more $$, so we have decide to buy all the panels for the resto at once, so hopefully then there is no holding me back!!

Well hello all in the split bus world!! Well, finally the Senator engine is done. For anyone interested it ended up making 752HP and 684 ft-lb @6,200 rpm, so it should be a lot of fun on the street!!

So my attention can finally start to turn back to Walter (woo hoo). I have decided the time is right to order the bulk of the repair panels. I am thinking of taking 4 weeks annual leave later in the year, and have a red hot crack at making some decent progress.

Not sure if anyone can help me, has anyone ever done a list (say in Excel) of all the parts they ended up needing for a rebuild like mine? Cooper has offered to come around and go through what he thinks is needed but if anyone has a basic list I can at least start from, I would very much appreciate it?

If not I guess I can get on Klassic Fab and try and work it out for myself?
