Hi DSK, my name is Gav and I live in Manly West Qld. I've never owned a bus, but have had a few bugs (62 and a 67) and now daily an 81 GTI, however I always wanted one. Longingly drooling over sambas at Bugjam, Detling and the Cornwall jamboree in the 90's, they seemed expensive and rusty at the time so I shied away. Time has past, expensive has changed to v v expensive, the rust is now less prevalent in the land I now call home and time has taught me a few lessons. I have been looking around for the last 9 months to get a feel for what is around and what my restoration appetite is like.
Hopefully I will be able to start a build thread sometime in the near future.
Gav
