Re: pg/sg 55
After overthinking the whole process I decided to just $%#@ an hope for the best.
Simple thinking makes it easier than overthinking.
So after cutting and hammering straight the existing remanants, I cut and stitched in the new one. The old cut job was terrible and they hammered the sections, so a little work was needed to make it straighter.
The holes on the lhs will be sorted out, but I wanted to get it in 1st then sort the holes so it didn’t warp too much.
Was really satisfying taking off the ratchet and it didn’t move again!
Then I ran out of gas. Damn.

Good job mate. Definitely a tricky one, hell I did it twice before I was happy. I did it the exact same way you did and it came up awesome.

That’s reassuring to know then! I was sceptical with this way, but was happy when it didn’t pull apart. After the structural part is in the rest hopefully will fall into place.splitthis wrote:Good job mate. Definitely a tricky one, hell I did it twice before I was happy. Pillar to Pillar is the only way to do it if you can find a good donor. I originally tried to patch one in and it turned out shit, I was stoked when i found a complete one to do it again.
You also got lucky having the OG centre section there, I had to replace that area on mine and it won't be as neat as yours.

I hope it will look neat. but on the other hand, it won’t be seen because it will have the full bulkhead interior on it also.
