Re: 58 mingo mango
Thanks for the kind words guys
Longs side sill ready to fit Not sure what's going here with the gap spreading apart at the bottom. Should I force it over and plug weld it to the long side sill ? Also what are people doing with there vertical supports to the long side sill, are plug welding to the sill or using a bonding glue between the 2 ?
Anyway back to playing farmer till the next TFB day or rain delay
Cheers

Re: 58 mingo mango
There is so many ways to do this, me I would cut a slit in the new panel about 5 mm away coz I think the dog leg is correct not your new piece, the next one I do I will weld all the sill to the panel before I plug weld it to the bottom lip , I’m sure other people have done it differently, and you have to get some of that paint away from the weld, hey you can do 5 tacks each night! By the way WTF is a TFB day? Totally Fn Broke day? Ian

This is exactly what I did. I think there is a pic in my thread of where I put the vertical slit. Make sure you use the compressor to cool your welds on that long panel. Also I drilled out the inner rocker and plug welded from the inside. Leaves a nicer finish on the visible part of the lip.vanell wrote:There is so many ways to do this, me I would cut a slit in the new panel about 5 mm away coz I think the dog leg is correct not your new piece, the next one I do I will weld all the sill to the panel before I plug weld it to the bottom lip , I’m sure other people have done it differently, and you have to get some of that paint away from the weld, hey you can do 5 tacks each night! As for the uprights I only put two plug weld on each because I didn’t need to replace very high, bonding glue would be easy and avoid warping.

No harvesting or when the FDI gets above 35-38 a harvest ban is sent out
FDI - fire danger index , combination of temp wind and humidity
