62 van
Well I bought this of pmgbus - was in splits for sale section here.
Had been looking for a window bus with a small back window, as a panel isn't to passenger friendly. I had been stalking an old dude for some time to sell me his van, but I don't think he was ever going too. This was local and cheap, but more metal work than ideal. nose, jack points, outriggers, rockers, carog floor etc Can't have it all.
Has had an annex attached at some point, and some wierd stuff with the motor / engine lid.
Progress will be slow, but I will try and keep plodding forward with it. Updates might not be that often though! but it will be saved and given a good home.
The original turquoise colour matches the lovely brides type 3, and the external orange my daily driver 76 bay camper.
Pictures on the side and inside roof match pictures we get brought home from childcare.
Pity the spare panels shown in one photo didn't come with it.
If someone has seat frames for sale please let me know!
My (current) plan is not a ratter, but modified motor, with IRS and painted.
For all you non SA punters, I was able to register this bus easilly with no inspection as it was still on their computer (lthough lapsed for 13 years)

Hey Paul, I will give you a call to catch up.
I am keeping the panel and it is going to be done before the 11 window.
So far I have done the seats and taken out the windows.
Bought a rattle gun to get some of the old bolts out so I am planning on making a push on it soon.
New carparking area is nearly done, waiting roller door then ready.
Heres a couple more pics.
Don't know about the hippies getting the 11 window... looks like graffiti to me! Although I never had an artistic eye.
Panel will be standard. 11 window will be not standard.
Still looking for rear seats for the 11 window.

Hey Dean,
I'll swap ya all 3 of the kombis for the green panel. Both orange ones are registered after all!
Yeah thanks heaps for the curse!
Any more of that and I might just have to paint the panel green and deck it out with a coffe machine, plasma screen, wireless network, irs etc
Your panel and Nik's were an inspiration when we saw you guys camping.
Two very different buses that really rocked.
Praps I need to rat the 11 window it to keep the karma man. Actually the plan is to make it with a karma feel.. can't say too much. It wont happen overnight (you know the rest....)
Saw Willy Wonka the other night. Inspired me to get the Oompa Loompa involved. See below.
Cheers

The bride said those 3 magic words today.............nothing is planned!
Took the towbar off, engine out and fuel tank out.
Engine is a 1200 based on engine number. Has had a modified pulley added to run 2 fan belts which explains the hole in the engine bay lid. Curious to know what exactly was run off it!
No heater boxes. Mostly welded up exhaust.
Here are a few pics, and a couple of questions.
Question 1. Fuel tank
Can you install a bigger fuel tank ? Seems to have gobs of extra height available. One of the photos attached shows a 64 tank with the 61. Only change I can tell is the corners rounded or square - so irrelevent.
Question 2. Engine
I have a 1200 from this bus (61) , a 1600TP (condition unknown but turns over) and a 1500SP siezed with a valve thro the piston crown (original motor from a 64 panel).
I want a single port motor in the panel (needs to be original looking) but bigger than a 1200! (The 61 will have a bigger motor which I am on the lookout for.)
Can I combine any of the above to make a motor for the panel?
Or do I need to rebuild the 1500 case (Haven't split it yet but v. close)and also buy new 1600 SP heads and barrels.
I assume 1600 barrels don't just slot on a 1200 bottom end?
or does any one know of a 1500/1600 SP for sale in reasonable condition.
Still also looking for rear lights and rear seats.
