Re: 65 ute
My brother and I were getting this ute ready to go on the Ratex tour to Uluru this year, been working on it flat out to get it done, but now its cancelled, and now that changes direction of how to finish up this ute, I had this set up for around 170mm ground clearance, bay window front end with adjusters, straight axle rear with tall tyres, but now I want to really lower it, I'm going to make it with 100mm ground clearance, narrow bay beam with drop spindles and raised up in the car 20mm, and lower profile tyres, real low. I will make the beam next week, been doing the interior and brakes for the last week

Oh and something else I have done with both this ute and the cubby hut is to use bike outer cable and use a empi throttle cable the one you cut to length, makes the throttle cable nice and smooth, got it on ebay bought a 10m roll

Great idea, I have the empi cable but might add the outer cable too. I’ve also seen people use that for the heater control cables.vanell wrote:Oh and something else I have done with both this ute and the cubby hut is to use bike outer cable and use a empi throttle cable the one you cut to length, makes the throttle cable nice and smooth, got it on ebay bought a 10m roll

Tank in and put in a Wizard fuel neck, spent most of the day in the treasure chest or under the car, wore me out , not much room in the treasure chest for a grumpy old man, but its done, if I put fuel in it should start, ive had the engine running on the bench. Treasure chest door needs a lock for it but I refuse to pay around $400 for one so I will make something out of a rear hatch lock that I have, I bought some fuel tank cover panels from Animal, when they turn up I will fit those and Por15 the treasure chest area, it needs a bit of a tidy up, I have made bits in there that arnt original but its solid, maybe another week and it will be going.
