That'll be great. Going to the sandblasters is bitter sweet. It seems like a big step forward but also reveals a lot more work you have to do. Hang in there.

Re: 58 mingo mango
Started having a look just a look at the dog leg
In my wisdom a year and half ago I thought I'd have a crack at just replacing the inner so that's what I bought
Now that was going to be a bloody hard mission to complete so I then drilled the outer of as well later on
Now fast forward I'm now thinking of a complete dog leg, so I rand Das for a outer only to be told they only sell complete in and outer pre welded and there now 700 odd bucks plus freight wow .
So I decided lower repair section and fix my og outer
I can't help but think of matt fixing rusty doors instead of good solid ones for 500-1000 bucks and wondering if I've made that right decision also just to save some og paint. With a bit of luck I should end up saving hopefully a few square inches og paint dog leg.

Good work mate, I assume you’re just blasting the shitty rusty areas, so everything from the sills up yeah?braddick wrote:Got some wheel mounted to the rotessire ready for it trailer ride to the sand blaster next week
You OG paint guys are a special breed.

Re: 58 mingo mango
Well it ended up been not perfect weather for transporting freshly blastered car around during the week with showers and moisture in the air
But I managed to get it home and back in the shed with out it been rained on by only minutes
Once back in the shed got the fire going in the shed to try and keep the moisture out of the air Pick up from the blaster

New the section was going to blow out was just waiting till after blasting to see how big of patch was required
Looks like a big one This looks like the only chassis rail section that needs attention where the outriggers attach
The inner dog leg looks like it will need some love

Re: 58 mingo mango
The next day painting condition weren't ideal also with it rain outside and coming from the east so we ended getting moisture coming under the sliding doors
But with the fire rawing in the shed we pushed on
We keen to get it sealed up as quick as possible due to the conditions
We not used to it still raining in October in where I live in Victoria

Re: 58 mingo mango
Thats encouraging; not much rot there. That valance needs to go though. What are you sealing with? I was hoping to squirt alot more of mine this summer but, what do you know...La nina! I'm happy for the local cockies but I need some dry to get anything done. All the best with the next bits.

Good job mate, weld the clutch conduit anywhere it touches. If it has any flex you will get a spongy pedal and shit clutch.
