Re: 60 panel
ok, so here is my proposed shopping list, any tips or advice on this?, basically doing the subfloor and such first, leaving the actual floor until last, this gives me the subfloor, longside inards and cargo side pillars, plus the lower seperator panel...

Re: 60 panel
-Bottom of long side supports I used KF and they were 8/10, they fit and work with little work
-lower b/c pillars i used KF and they were 5/10, both were off in every direction and if your being anal take lots of work to make nice but still easier than doing it from scratch
-Inner sill I used CE they were 9/10, awesome fit, slight tweaking required, just need to hammer one end flat
-Long panel bottom 6" i used CE 8/10, needed a tweak at the rear arch and a bit of pie cutting where it met the dogleg
-Under cargo sill/strengthener I used CE and it went together well and fit well, initially I would have said 9/10 but have since realised that the outer sill bows in where they stamped the cargo door rod holes, still deciding if I will try and mess with it before paint 7.5/10 considering the bow
-Outriggers I used CE 10/10, great fit, quality part fuck all, fucking around.
-Full floor I used KF 8.5/10, Looks great, solid and not too thin like the cheapies. Was 5-10mm short at the rear and a bit sloppy around some of the pillars but looks shit hot welded in.
CE stuff was awesome and you don't need to clean off all that shitty green primer before doing any work, their inner front valance was great too but needed a little love on the curve. KF big stuff (floor, lower nose, lower windscreen etc) I found really good. They all need tweaking (and removal of the primer) but overall they were good, KF really let themselves down with the small stuff. All the lower pillars needed heaps of work, their lower A pillars were shit, the seat plates that came with the cargo floor were not square etc etc.
Keep in mind I bought lots of these parts 5 years ago, things may have changed since BUT ID SAY USE CE for the small bits and pieces where possible and then KF for the big bits.

Awesome man, appreciate all of that, will do a bit of research on those, especially the feedback on the B/C pillars..

Re: 60 panel
If your replacing while pillars it wouldn’t be an issue but trying to get them to match up with the OG pillars when you’re just doing the bottom 6-8 inches sucked. There’s some pics in my build thread I think. Also you could try to pm Cooper, he’s putting so many busses together at the moment he would have a good understanding of current panel quality.

Re: 60 panel
dolly done, looks the goods , subfloor on its way next week.. question is, should we do the lower seperator panel before installing the subfloor? looks like the front top hats go over the seperator panel at the bottom..

Re: 60 panel
sure as shit he can weld better than me! - sorting parts, funny how much shit you collect.
chasing a few things, what i can think of
- headlight bits - anytihng really, happy with beetle glass.. prefer not shiny new repro, want at least a shitty ring
- cargo door mechs, both sides, bars, etc.
- drivers door inner bits, from the handle to the lock, looks like i have what i need for thr rest?
- rear engine hatch latch
- pedals, need the lot by the looks of it..
- ideas on running gear?, have irs box, thinking irs rear with KLP front with dropped spindles?.. want wide 5 OF rims all around.

Re: 60 panel
Got a pic of what you mean mate? I think your asking about the bottom of the bulkhead which sits on the front of the front top hat and is below floor level? If so you can do the sides after the top hats and floor but the centre section (under the spare wheel section) needs to be done before floor as that’s where floor butts up against.warb wrote:dolly done, looks the goods , subfloor on its way next week.. question is, should we do the lower seperator panel before installing the subfloor? looks like the front top hats go over the seperator panel at the bottom..
