Hi all, been a while since I have found time to get on the forum.

A lot has happened since my last post. In summary, I found a painter here locally and got the bus to him. He got a lot of small stuff sorted and got it into the basic primer. I then went to see Andrew about speccing up my motor, which led to a discussion about fitting an intermediate engine mount. That requires welding, and it sort of started a snowball. So I had a discussion with Dan (painter) and we brought the bus home so I could do a few jobs that will require welding. That way I also don't have to stress about doing some interior setup work and chipping paint. So here we are...

Might do some separate posts on the stuff I have been up to, there is a lot of ground to cover.

One thing that is very important to me (and Sue) is safety and legality, so I have also been to see an engineer about some stuff. We are fitting a rearward-facing two-person bench seat against the bulkhead. Underneath it will be a pair of pull-out drawer fridges. Sue also wants the ability to be able to legally and safely carry kids etc. So we went for an off-the-shelf ADR compliant seat, with an seat belts and child restraint mounts. Making up a frame to go over the fridges and act as a seat base was a bit of a 5-day epic. But it's done now, so very pleased that's out of the way. Part of that deal was carefully moving the compressor units to one side which will be under a cupboard, but I also needed to cut reliefs into the b9lkhead to get them back hard againts it. Very happy with how it all turned out.

Ripping through these last weld-related jobs in this couple of weeks I have off. That's the adjustable seat brackets welded in, also the rock n roll bred mounted properly, engine lid gas strut in, and with a welded-in bracket, and the intermediate mount done. Now prob one of the last big ones, the seat belt mounts.

That's my two weeks done, picked up a new 4m tinnie at the start of the break so sort of alternated between fitting that out and the Kombi.

Got the engine lid strut in, I didn't like the lower bolt in bracket so made one upo and welded it for a cleaner look.




I don't think I posted up about the Buttys Bits intermediate mount, but got that in also.



Also spent a fair while on the seat belts, decided to tack up one side (front and rear) then take pics and send them to the engineer, once he gives the knod will finish welding them and mirror them completely on the other side.

And that's a wrap, almost got the Balzecut install finished yesterday but didn't want to rush it, finished it off tonight.

Intermediate mount fitment was easy as, tbh I wouldn't bother making your own, now these are available for the price. Very nicely made, quality welds etc.

Top seatbelt mount is just a piece of scrap I made up to use with the broken test seat belt I have to see how it all sits
