What’s the seatbelt top mounts from?
Intermediate mount fitment was easy as, tbh I wouldn't bother making your own, now these are available for the price. Very nicely made, quality welds etc.

Top seatbelt mount is just a piece of scrap I made up to use with the broken test seat belt I have to see how it all sits :D
Just had a squiz, they don’t look too bad. I like to make my own things so the oval got one.

I like to make my own things generally too but seriously with this its not worth it imo. Plenty of other stuff on my bus to cut, weld and grind ha ha

Just heard from the engineer who has given the go ahead for my seat belt achorages design and fab with no changes needed. Always nice to get on side with them early, so far he seems great to deal with. But I did learn alot from the Senator with regards engineering. That was a little bit more involved/extreme than the bus.

Your doing so well, making this bus suit your personal lifestyle is great imo. Nothing wrong with wanting a bus safe too 8)
Great shot with yourself and the Mrs. - that first trip away completed will be epic
Cheers Linz

Which bit do you mean, by the side of the seat, the middle stalk mount or the inertia reel mount?

Spent the week end on it, and all the fab stuff is done (finally!). So back off to the painter for final body/colour. New loom is on its way over, and the front and rear suspension from Brian at Type E Motorsports that Ian recomended is about to be on its way. he has been fabntasitic to deal with so far so looking forward to recieving that. Only hassle is I placed the order for the bumper bars with The Bus Stop 4 months ago and was promised 2 weeks deleivery and still not here. Not sure what to do about that. But next time its back in my shed it should be in its colour(s).

Prob don't have any better than that one I posted. I actually have the cardboard templates I made for that rear side, and also the lower reel mounts in the front. Not sure if they are of any use to anyone, or could prob whip up a CAD drawing. It went back off to the painter today, so next time it's in the shed will have some colour.

Thanks all, yea won't lie, I am looking forward to some non-car shed time!!

So a bit of an issue on the weekend. Turns out my engineer wasnt comfortable with the front and rear I was planning on going with. And not passing engineering isn't something I can't lve with. My experience with the Senator, is yes i can try and work with him around what he deosnt like about it, but the costs to do that can skyrocket pretty quickly, and there is never any guarantee it will finally pass. So I decided instead to cancel the order.

So I guess I am back to square one with what to go with suspension wise. I want the ride, handling and stopping to be the best and up to date it can be. Time for some researching I guess. Happy to take any suggestions of what to look at from you guru's who have been down this path way more than me!!

Only thing I can think of is, an engineer designed the west gate bridge and that fell down, I don’t know how you will ever get a Splitty over the line with an engineer, trying to get a 1950 design into the 2020’s good luck with that. Mate are you sure you want to go down the engineer road? I can tell you from driving Splitty’s ‘ there not safe at any speed’ and I drive mine accordingly, an engineer can’t help you with that, big brakes, great suspension, seatbelts, they still have to cut you out in a head on crash, you just have to enjoy them for what they are, noisy uncomfortable works of art, Art Deco in its finest
