Well as they saying goes” all good things come to those who wait “
And I have waited for this 22 months to be exact
Saw og paint mango green non recess drivers door come up forsale in the uk on a fb page back in dec 2019
Well by the time I got it payed for then shipped to someone who was happy to post it to me and then had wait a month before he made my tubs it was March and this little covid thing came around
Unfortunately freight went through the roof and I was thinking this little covid thing will blow over in no time and I’ll get it sent when freight comes down
Fast forward 20 month and I ended up paying more freight just to get it home
Anyway the last piece of the og paint puzzle has arrived

Well it’s seem I got lucky when I bought this door
It came with 3 layers of mango green
Good value for money ha ha
Now working on removing another layer
The second coat was a bit more mustard of mango colour I was thinking at the time maybe euro or USA mango buses might of been a different shade of mango to oz buses
The og mango is bang on to the rest of the bus but is taking different approach to removing
The og colour is paper thin doesn't take much to blow through to the grey primer which is not a match to oz primer

That top layer looks thick! But it looks like it’s chipping off, maybe the plastic razor blade technique? I hope you’ve had some words with the bloke who sold it to you? It’s just lucky there was so much OG (haha look who’s getting anal about OG now) under the re-sprays.

Yep using plastic scrapper, heading to Bunnings over the weekend to look for plastic razor blades as the plastic scrapper melts away at the tip after a couple of scraps. Yep that’s how hot I’m getting the paint with oven cleaner to remove it, so yet another tool required to remove the paint the cordless angle grinder to keep putting a sharp edge on the scrapper

I recon that there is 3 types of OG, there’s NFG OG, that’s an original part that’s actually Fucked, then there’s OG that’s a second hand part you can actually use, and then there’s the last one, Anal OG, which is sadly what most OG people are, and that’s a OG part that is close to new and mostly never use but stored and shown to people to say that they have one. Brad , I had the same thing happen to me when I take pictures from my phone, they end up sideways, so now when I take a picture I go to the picture and select edit and then rotate the picture, a full circle, then select save, then you will be able to get them the right way up on the forum
