Rusty Mangoes

Post by animal »

Hey Gang

I should of started this threat years ago but I never seem to get the time.
So hears a few pics of progress after 3 years of trying to resurrect the rustiest bus I’ve ever done.

Thought it was appropriate that since it’s been used for target practice I’d fit some 50 cal cases to the roof rack.

So basically the only thing i haven't had to repair is the ashtray, such a massive job which i've had to walk away from on many occasions
This bus lived upside down with the roof skin removed for some weird reason down in Lithgow bush before it was rescued.
So nothing fitted being sat for so long, all the apertures had sagged so it has been a struggle to make panels fit.
I'm getting closer to finishing all the panel work and have the type 3 box and rear end and fully recoed 1916 ready to fit this week.
5in narrowed beam is in with all brakes and suspension done, steering all hooked up, just need to find shocks to fit.
Anyway i'll keep some pics coming as i get closer to the finish line.

I know you’ve been pushed to the limits with this twisted wreck, but your skills have been up for the challenge. Looking forward to having you cruise again with the Gang.
These awesome images also belong here too…..

Is that an old Kennard roof rack you’ve attached?

Found some for our bay. Used timber to raise the bar enough and then had to attached a hose clamp when I noticed the timber was starting to split. Pic is pre-hose clamp.

The stickers blew off after a couple of drives unfortunately.
