61DC project
Starred getting into this project, after about 12 years of asking the previous owner to sell it to me, he finally said yes. Have cut the floor out and new one going in, also looks better in the photos than it is, found a heavy skim of bog from the previous panel guy, so that's all since come out. Will try and remember to put some progress shots up as we go..

Another 61 with oval taillights, so here’s the dilemma, do you go with them or fit the twin taillights? I have the same on the 61DC I have but I recon I will switch it to twin taillights because I personally like them. Let the OG and personal preferences start

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like the running gear has already been updated.
A vote for twin taillights from me.

Re: 61DC project
Looks like as found no tail lights so don’t know what it was originally. Probably twins, at the end of the day you can’t see them from the driver seat so whatever works I reckonvanell wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 10:48 am Another 61 with oval taillights, so here’s the dilemma, do you go with them or fit the twin taillights? Re: 61DC project
ooh nice work. re the tail lights I had head that dealers swapped the twin taillights for teh oval ones in 61/62 so buyers got the new version - dont know if true but a good story, though personally Id go the twin lights..

Re: 61DC project
Re twilights. I was ignorant with our ‘61 and knew no different at the start of the resto, plus mine came with the ovals at the time of purchase. So the ovals went in for free compared with the cost of buying twins. Saying that, if I’d known it should have had twins, I’d probably have bitten the bullet and gone with twins.
But the ovals look just fine, stuff the purists, they’re all wankers!

Love it!
(No opinion on twin vs oval other than do whatever you want, or whatever will annoy you the least in 5 years time).
