Re: Rusty Mangoes
I think eye wood like to see some early pictures, like putting the side on and the roof
Going by the first time you picked it up, there would have been a bunch of welding work done before you got around to putting the roof on

Re: Rusty Mangoes
Hey Vanell i bought the bus off a guy called Jerry who had a little workshop in Byron.
He was getting deported for overstaying his visa from the US so he had started tacking a roof on etc.
Probably in hindsight i should of never bought it as it was a basket case.

Re: Rusty Mangoes
Finally got the motor fitted and had some some cabinets made for storage.
Had some old pine tables that I repurposed and the cabinet maker did a great job.
Now to find an exhaust and fit up some fuel hoses and wiring.

Re: Rusty Mangoes
With Valla encroaching quickly, I couldn't let Shauno turn up again in a Commodore....
So I went up and spent the weekend helping Shauno on this bus, it was the old 4 steps forward, 1 step back routine. Pissed off and buggered from a big day working on it on Saturday, the first bourbon was cracked late in the afternoon. Then my OCD kicked and put the can down, for one more crack at it. Well, that was the best thing we did. Our thoughts were not the way you want to spend Sunday morning. After crawling back under the bus, and by no means is this an easy task with this bus Jack to get the jack in This thing is loooowwww.
Old Shauno not known for anything that wouldn't stop a can of beer for rolling under it.
We tweaked and adjusted - then....
Saw this beast fire up and drive out of the garage for the first time in many years under it's own steam on the weekend. Now that was exciting.
Nice job mate to get it this far, 1-2 more weeks of blood, sweat and beers and Valla hear you go. Looking forward to cruising with this one.
Good times ahead.

Re: Rusty Mangoes
Looking good, how did you go fitting the VS exhaust? I offered mine up for the first time this week and it fits like shit. Not sure if it’s that or the aftermarket heater boxes.
