Great to see you back in the shed.
Have you mentally prepared yourself for the keyboard warriors who are going to chip you for not saving all that patina paint?

Two months since the last pic of you doing half a job on that dogleg Big Dave.
Just pointing out the obvious.

Re: 55 microbus
So I have been getting out in the shed after work a couple of nights a week, until it gets too cold.
I cleared all the shit out of it and vacuumed it out then got into chopping out more rust. Need to get the chassis rails exposed so I can get started on replacing the sections that are rusted out. Basically at all the outriggers where its boxed in. Crazy how packed full of sand the box sections were

Re: 55 microbus
Cut out the floor to get to the bottom of the bulkhead and have decided to replace the front tophat completely as it was packed full to the top of sand, it was even packed in around the gear rod. As its a 55 there is no guide tube for the gear rod so as it was packed in sand its rusted a hole in the rod itself too.
I need to remove the running gear so I can get the rod out, still can’t believe the little square headed bolts came out easily too.
Need to get some castors and make up some legs to attach them to the chassis so i can still move it around, so thats the next thing to sort

Great work mate, keep at it. No promises because I said this to Brad 4 years ago but my bus should be on wheels soon. You can borrow the jig if you don’t sort something before then.
