Re: 61DC project
Looking good mate. For fear of sounding like “that guy” tail light holes for a 61 should have slots not screw holes, screw holes was a 58 only thing I think.

Re: 61DC project
Zero difference when light fitted.. don't be that guy
This DC is being built to be a practical cruiser and will be far from perfect so I can use the shit out of it, without care or fear of scratches, dents or general abuse.
It will be far from OG..

Donor front beam and rear hubs sorted.

Do you know where that bus came from? Looks like a bay I saw on a farm in Warnambool once when I picked up a splitty wreck.

Re: 61DC project
Its been in out hillbilly circle for a while, reducing its mass slowly at each pick.. not sure of its history prior to this.. still a few good bits on it, which are about to be raided, then who knows of its next resting place. I will put it up on the local VW sites as a freebie, failing that it will be off to the scrap metal yard.

Progress is progress right..
Got a few more items ticked off.
IRS legs in, rear shocker mounts removed, bit of welding here and there.
Half way through the steering box lift..

Re: 61DC project
A few more jobs ticked off, seat belt mounts all done.
Sand blasted underneath today and took it home for a coat of etch primer.
Blasting uncovered a few more jobs to get through, then some colour..
