Re: 55 microbus
There is a couple of patches needed but overall its pretty good. A bit pitted in the lows but still solid, shame someone cut a big hole in it. There was a gas bottle hanging under there and the hole was access for the tap.

Re: 55 microbus
Found some more time for the bus, needed to get the axles off so Could access the underside. Scored some steel tube (packing frames that were being thrown out) so made up dolly frame to whack the bus on and roll it over.
So now have replaced the cancer in the main chassis rails and started chipping off all the under-seal, satisfying but arduous and time consuming.
I just need to get 4 castors to go on the side frame then I can roll the bus right over, as I can’t move it once on its side and not enough room to roll it over in the shed but even at 45* it makes cleaning up the wheel arches so much easier. So thats a win
Anyway heres the pics

Re: 55 microbus
Chipping off the under-seal next will use some metho to clean it up. Once its all done will pressure wash it then treat it and paint the lot

Re: 55 microbus
Cheers guys, feels good to be getting some done
Got a few more hours in today.
Made a couple of closing pieces for the front chassis box section.
It turns out its the same thickness as the roof skin so used some salvaged sheet metal
Also started mocking up the inner sill and out riggers. Not all repro panels are the same! Had some front out riggers I scored cheap from somewhere years ago, not sure of brand but they are a little short (for the record back ones are silver and fit just right)
So extended it and now all good.
