Yeah I know I've done more than standard but I wanted to reinforce the middle seat as much as possible - the seatbelt mounts are welded in to the seat frame itself so there's a 5mm plate welded the full length underneath and every single clamp is actually going to be bolted right through into a captive nut welded on from underneath.splitthis wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 7:33 am shit tonne of progress mate, keep the updates coming.
Just so you know, your bus wouldn’t have had seat clamps on the two inner legs of the middle seat. It should however have plates welded to the floor where the legs sit. I think there’s a couple of pics on my looooong slow build.

Clever way to avoid having seatbelts hang down under the middle seat. Definitely need the extra hook with the belts mounted like that, nice work.

Re: 57 11 Window - Penny
I obviously won't have the seatbelts in for rego and the seat covers will actually completely cover the plates, etc so I can just 'feel' for the holes and then make small holes to feed the bolts through later.
Have also removed the standard bay middle seat fold down handle and will just have a very small little latch at the bottom of the back rest with a wiper switch knob screwed on to it.

Coming up real nice mate
I assume that extra bar underneath is for extra strength for the seat mounts

Yep sure is mate, wanted to reinforce it and bolt the seats in right through the floor instead of into the little T-Slot factory floor mounts...just a bit of extra peace of mind!

Re: 57 11 Window - Penny
Front or Rear??
Front is as per Champs request for fitting oil cooler as well as keeping things out of the way of the creative steering rack going in, the rear Y piece was the only donor part I could find (thanks Coop) so had to run with the bay window part, should work well enough will just need different sized ends on the heater hoses I think?
Or if you're referring to the weird looking bracket thing in the middle, that's for a 12v flap that will be controlled by a toggle switch hidden somewhere under the dash and will allow me to turn the heat on just a little or a lot if I want...will try to find a pic so you can see what I'm on about...

Re: 57 11 Window - Penny
Lots of white laid down this week, glad I’m balancing it up with the silver grey and charcoal trim inside the bus and the blue for the lower half.
Next will be engine bay in blue and then finally the exterior body with small pinstripe, doors, handbrake lever, gear lever, pedals, steering bits, etc.
