Well yesterday arvo I decided to fit the fuel tank
After finding the og straps and giving them a clean and ankor wax and also locating the og patina bolts to go in I was getting close
Until I thought I better check that my overflow pipe was free and clean, after a few attempts with various wires and wd40 it became clear that we had a problem
So this bus was essentially a dry solid bus so to end have a rusted out overflow pipe was a surprise
Not sure how many of these pipes get replaced but this one needed doing
So my quick little job turned into a 2 part day job

Gave the tank a rinse out and was happy with what was going out so thankfully no surprises there

Tank installed tonight
For a minute u think they don’t fit and then in they pop
All new felt and rubber seal at the base and rubber on the neck
I also fully cleaned and ankor waxed the engine compartment
Ticking off the jobs

A few people have been interested in how the pip is attached or set up to work as this seems like not a common part that needs replacing or fixing
Pipe is bronzed over the top of this little pipe
Obviously I welded it back on and little help from my old mate JB

Not a lot of spare time this week with a busy week on the farm but I did get a few hrs in this arvo
One thing that has been annoying me were these shiney chrome plates and those terrible looking Phillips head screws
Can’t have to much bling hitting me in the face while I’m driving

Attention to detail is important Brad, no point going through all that patina work you did and then have super shiny bits. That’s something I’d do
