Ah, yes, I though it was just a matter of time before that came up.

As you can see the seam in the front sill was not fabricated when the panel beater fixed the usual rust across the front skirt but with a bumper on it's invisible.
I have a standard Type 2 1600 twin port from a 71 Bay that's done around 20k to drop right into her.
It did easy work and was just run in by the PO before he parted out the bus due to big rust problems and copious other cars in his posession.
When I was still living in Sydney I had it checked by Klaack Motors and they said all the compression and seals were perfect.
In fact it ran beautifully.
But after driving a modern car for a while I'd like a little more oomph and (I know I'm a wuss) aircon.
In fact the whole heating/cooling thing has to be dealt with as we live in the Southern Tablelands and it gets very cold in winter.
So, that means a soft pressure supercharger (probably a Toyota) and a larger carb along with a easier exhaust.
Some sort of external oil cooler is also a must for that sort of extra strain on the engine.
The guy I bought her from has converted her to IRS, although I daresay I'll need to have that safety checked by a reputable bus shop, and I have a decent L-Bug box to put in her.
He also changed the front end to balljoint to fit disc brakes but I'm not sure I'll keep the beam the way it is.
Lowering (mild of course) goes without saying.
I'd like to put the original wide five wheels on it using adapter plates on the Bay discs and that probably means a narrowed beam.
Aside of that?
A rock'n'roll bed, simple car stereo, a good set of spotlights to light up the road.
Oh, and some sort of bull bar I can fit when necessary.
There are too many bloody roos at night.
My tally with my current 4x4 ute is 3 roos and a wallaroo and they were all hit on roads I also drove my last bus along, a '77 9-seater.
At this point however running and registered is what counts first.
Pretty paint jobs don't even really fuss me.
There isn't really enough water down here to wash a car so it'll be functional, maybe even Wehrmacht Matt Sand or the like.
Dust won't show up on that!!
