61 11 Window.

Post by DubbinDan »

While admiring my profile on DSK yesterday I noticed that Dec 5th was the date I joined. Seeing as it was such an auspicious occasion I thought why not finally post some pics of the bus in gestation.

It's a '61 Micro. Steve and Tony at Kombi Rescue (whom I bought it of) are completing the rebuild.

According to it's previous owner it's originaly from Canberra. He took it to Albury about 8 -9 years ago where it had a lower nose and the sills done and was painted about 6 years ago. No rust coming through was a good sign and since it's been at KR it's had some touch up work.

New interior is currently being fitted along with a stereo and some nice black fuchs and a new engine. Don't ask me about compression ratios. It has one and that's all I know.

It's not a show pony but will be a good honest banger and hopefully provide a heap of fun for wife and two small kids. Personally I hate the things!

Current estimate for rolling running debut is Feb 2007.

I take it you mean you hate the kids. No one in their right mind would hate the bus.

Looking great - can't wait to see some more progress shots[/code]

Nice one Dan. Like the plan with the black Fuchs. What's the compression ratio?

Nice one Dan, I am another one who thought big and long about buying this when it was for sale in Albury. They don't come along in as good condition or with so much of the work done like that very often.

Yeah compression ratios are all the rage these days, everyone seems to have or want one.

That old yella in the backgorund does look familiar doesn't it?

Some pics of where it's at. Almost have interior finished (he says, making out he's doing it himself!).

Given I have two boys of my own and four nephews and one niece I went for a nice practical colour scheme.
