and rub it with 3M 36 on the filler to get the shape first, fill, rub high spot, fill rub, 2/3 runs at it will fix it - come an see the hole in my roof, knock off the build on the paper with a wire brush, before you attempt to get it too straight or smooth....made that mistake for a few nights...the 36 is a winner, and don't leave the filler to go rock hard, get it before, it's easier to shape....and as I've deiscovered, it's more like clay modelling and art than it is an exact process. So get artistic....hands are a good tool.

the other half doesnt know its in the house..... she doesnt go downstairs much - there is plenty of room... you should see how much kombi stuff is down there.

She is pretty used to seeing Kombi bits everywhere now, with four on our drive in the garage.....

Nearly finished all the doors and hatches.... starting to think about colour should be ready to paint in about two weeks. Anyone got any ideas?? I am not sure whether to two tone her or do it in some sort of commercial/industrial colour all over. Plan is to lower her and IRS eventually.

I could post a thread letting anyone who is intersted vote on a colour and then paint it whichever colour gets most votes.... now there is an idea :D :D :D

got loads of photos to put up. Panel is getting painted next week... at last..... yahooooooo...

Still not 100% but think I am painting it in a slightly contraversial two tone scenario with a stone grey up top and a light grey or similar below... but not sure - any ones thoughts??

As a rule I dont really like some of the two tone split panels I have seen, but they all seem to be white up top and therefore looking far to pretty and like they are trying to be a window van. I am hoping the darker grey on the top will give it a slighlty edgy look - am I mad - should I stick to something original - its going to be low, with standard wheels for moment....

btw - anyone know how to convert photos into smaller sizes so I can put them up?? I did have a program that did it but no longer.....

Cheers

Great work, I like your thinking on making it look llike a panel, as distinct from a window van. I think the choice of colour is one of the hardest and most nerve wracking things to do in a resto. I also think if you have done the prep well it will look the goods no matter what your choice. Have you had a play on the Bus selecta site? It is a bit cartoonish but is as close as I can get without actual painting.

As for reducung your pics, if you are usung windows XP save the pics in original size then highligt them in the folder and right click and select the "resize pictures option"
If you can't do that email them to me and I will reduce them for you, post em up and send em back to you.

Is this what you have in mind? I took abit of artistic license and blinged it up a bit, simply because I could.
