The tyre size will be written on the tyre.
The date stamp on the rims will be between the wheel bolts. It will be a circle with the month above the year (all inside the circle).

You might find the date stamp is on the inside of the rim where the tyre sits- You have to take the tyre off to see it. I have just had 5 splitty rims blasted and painted with dates ranging from 1960 to 1967 and they were all in this postion. I do have some earlier rims which are date stamped in the area that John has indicated. I am thinking that Aussie rims were date stamped where I am saying but this is based on my experience and not fact

stamp on the cab door hinges is 1/63 both sides
there is no date stamp near the VW logo on the rim. might be on the back?

The date code will not necessarily be next to the VW logo, but it should be in that area of the rim.
