Reminds me of my mates nice Type 3 Fastback.
A stupid woman in the carpark lets go of a trolley and watches it build up speed and smack into the Fastback......the week after it had had a respray.

OK today I had a go at steering wheel restoration, first I used the dremel to grind out the cracks then I used something called Q-Bond to fill them. Its a powder you fill the cracks with then add a hardner. All the cracks are now filled and will sand it tomorrow and take it to get sprayed. Will see how it turns out, hopefully better than what it was and better than the flexy repro ones.

Well I have sanded my steering wheel repairs and it has come out great, when you run your hand over it, you cant even tell it has been repaired, will just have to wait and see how it looks once painted and see if it doesnt crack again. Also spent today respraying the undercarriage where there was overspray. Painted the rear trailing arms and spring plates. Next job will be to rebuld the rear hubs so will be getting some new bearings and redoing the rear brakes. Sorry guys no new pics.

I am not really sure myself, will be handing it over to the guy who painted my bus, just think it will be sprayed in 2pac. It has a layer on it at the moment, not sure if its some type of enamel but it comes off when sanding. Anyway I will have more info and pics, yes PICS when its done sometime next week.

Great work. I have actually got used to my flexi-repro one (warbs busy changing nappies so I can get away with that sort of comment) - I am told they flex so your steering wheel doesn't break your ribs quite as bad as the old ones - seems a reasonable explanation.ozjeff wrote:Will see how it turns out, hopefully better than what it was and better than the flexy repro ones.
