Productive day today as the drivers door is now in primer and guide coat ready for its first rub down before bodywork continues
The left dogleg is also in primer - still a little filler work to do on the b-pillar
The 40DRLA dellortos purchased previously were in pretty good shape however needed a rebuild
The new updated venturi is on the left and original on right - the difference in size is clear
The other major difference shown post rebuild here is the horizontal discharge tubes (better fuel atomisation), as well as taller idle jet stacks which help to avoid the problem of clogged jest which they are prone to in original form.
Al wasn't to happy with the finish of the clearcoat on the fanshroud so he decided to buzz it back, re prime....will then block sand before base coat and clear goes back on.
Also some chistmas pressies arrived from the US today (unfortuantely Santa didn't pay for them)

Yeah, santa is a pretty top bloke and all
Heres another update
Also the autocraft roof section and gutter finally arrived after all these months waiting!!
After having the suspension components blasted back to bare metal, they were epoxy primed then painted in satin black two pack
Black direct gloss (single stage) was mixed with flatenning base to reduce the gloss
After repainting the fanshroud today (clear came up much better) a quick mockup of tinwear was done tonight. Will need to match port the manifolds and clearance the cylinder cover tins for the manifolds, but after that it should come together pretty quickly
Jaycee dizzy clamp mocked up, the CB coil mount/fuel pump block off may not work with the CSP bellcrank linkage in which case the coil will be mounted somewhere else to keep the look clean and tidy

What fuel pump will you be running? As I i'm puting twin webbers on my beetle and I'm not sure if the standard fuel pump will be enough. And by the way it's looking good.
A bad day cruzin' is better than a good day at work.
Mats.
