Bit of dent pulling on the swage line

More slow and steady tacks is what it takes to weld the skin in without warping

Bit more welding and grinding to go, then sanding, body work and primer.....not too far from paint now!

Yesterday Al got the front cargo door welding completed and ground
smooth

The Gerson inner is in and lines up well (had to cut, trim and reweld the seal retaining lip on the leading edge as it was too wide, as per previous Gerson inner repairs)

To clean up the sides a little more I decided to have the handle recess filled

A repair section was grafted in, welded and dressed smooth

Both doors were buzzed back to bare metal

The bare metal was then treated with Deoxidine (a metal conditioner) in readiness for the minor bodywork required

No greasy mitts from OMR_007, but I think I might have to clean a few stains up from the primer when we left Leroy alone with the bus unsupervised for too long!

Getting real close now!

Finally after a couple days solid of body work the cargo doors are primed

Epoxy primer first then two medium coats of HS (high build) primer

Guide coat will help to highlight any problems during block sanding

Well, after a full day of sanding and prep work the interior is finally painted in a bright white
