Hello again, ive been busy just fitting an all new 2276c motor into my mate mikes 65 devon, we are going to run her on 48 IDF webers just like my bus.
Its a 2276cc with a scat C45 cam running a 8.9:1 comp ratio, i used 1.25:1 ratio rockers and scat pro drag heads with 42x 37.5 mm valves .
Been busy also building a 1914cc for a 65 bug , hope you like the pics .
Rich.

Hey richie, do you have any trouble keeping a motor that size cool in the back of a bus?

(Probably a dumbass question seeing as your summers aren't as hot as our winter!!)

if the engine is built with the right parts in the right way they run cool, i have the same spec engine in my 67 and have been to south spain and italy many times running for hours at 70 to 80 mph fully loaded with no problems.
Follow the basic rules , use new parts, with all buses even stock 1600 run a remote oil filter, anything bigger run a remote cooler as well.
Allways still use the stock cooler in the fan housing NEVER take it out .
And never take the flaps out of the fan shroud , they direct the air correctly over the heads.
Honestly they run fine .

Rich did you have any problems with oil leaks out of the thread where the anodised fittings screw into the remote oil filter block?

Both fittings on mine (one more than the other obviously that has the "outlet") leak slightly despite the tapered thread. Did you use any thread sealant?

Cheers
