Did you come up with solid off white piping? Im looking to replace some cracked sections in my og seat covers in my 59 mango. Im also looking for any scraps of OG caramel to make my kickpanels, a parcel shelf liner and also repair the bottoms of my front door panels which are missing. Let me know if you can help out Wal. Likewise if there's anything I could do in return... Good work matey. Looking forward to seeing your bus done.

Cheers
Dale

just done a bit of history search on seats & found that o/s the bench front seat did not have piping till 62 & humpy backrest about 60/61 so pre those years the front bench was lets say bland like this pic.
can any one confirm or deny this for aust bus

Thats a kombi front bench whereas a mango is a standard (microbus) and would have an interior of the same standard (though different colours) as a delux. Mangos had the same coloured seats all through. Caramel with white piping.

Youre right about kombi seats, white piping from 61/62, no piping before that.

If the buyer of your bus plans to repaint it let me know. Id love to swap a neat drivers door for an OG mango one.

Only difference is "standard" or "micorbus" as its also called were kombis with interiors trimmed to the same level as deluxes, only using different distinct material.

55-58 delux was tan on tan and paint was sealing wax red/chestnut brown
55-58 standard was green/green and paint was palm green/ sand green
59-62 delux was grey on grey and paint was beige grey on sealing wax red
59-62 standard was caramel and white and paint was mango/ beige grey

after this Im not sure, havent ventured into that era yet.

okay yesterday the blankets & tarp were removed after sitting for 1 year & very happy with the minimal amount of surface rust & now steve will hook in at his speed.
a bit of surface rust on the doglegs & the rhs back but virtually none anywhere else, the replacement rhs panel has more surface rust than the bus by the way thats the only bit to weld on really.
