Re: 61 split ute
You need to head back Ian and take the ol’ boy for a drive. I took the farmers wife (farmer deceased) and her son for a drive in the bay once back on the road. Even offered her a drive not expecting her to take up the offer at her age. shit me self when she took up the offer on the highway. Couldn’t say no. Had a ball and didn’t crash, missed only one gear change, made the families and our day.
My advice, stick to a back road, not a logging route!

Engine out, heat riser had blocked up, swapped it over to another manifold I had. Champs rebuilt me a 30 pict2 so install that. I had made the brace for the engine mount as a solid piece thinking I can put the engine in from underneath but without a hoist it is a Pita, so I’m going to make that removable, Brookesy showed up at the right time to help me get it back in

Did you secretly give the carbie to Brad to jump the queue with Champ or are you part of Champs VIP guest list as well?vanell wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 8:54 am Engine out, heat riser had blocked up, swapped it over to another manifold I had. I am constantly in the queue for an engine and gearbox ! He’s currently building me a 1835 with a 34 pict, and an IRS gearbox for my next project

Now I know the picture doesn’t look too different than last time but I have just made a huge improvement. It now has a narrow bay window beam with Type E Motorsports Disc brakes, and I might say and this is a huge statement, that this is the best driving bus I have ever owned!

Yes we’ll done ! I must say having made many changes to my bus over the years, it’s only recently that I feel my bus is 100% finally dialled in and the best bus I’ve ever driven.
It’s a nice feeling I reckon to drive a bus / this well dialled in.
Now just to keep it that way

Made some hoops today, 25 mm square tube, actually very sturdy, and screwed the timber to them, might have a go at the roof rack tomorrow
