How today ?
U will have the spray gun out next week at this rate

Good day today but without many pictures. Was lucky enough to have Wiz come and look at the bus and give me some advice and then help me out for a couple of hours. We spent most of the time taking it in turns holding the dolly in spots one person simply can’t reach (roof is dialed and finished now). Wiz and I then busted out the shrinking disk m, which neither of us had used before and got stuck into the passenger lower rear corner. Made some real progress too because it was wobbly as hell but also quite “bubbled” outwards compared to the long panel.

Finished off this panel today. It’s still got a small low where the dent was but considering I can’t get behind it because of the internal frame it’s pretty good. Still 1mm box max.

Started on the bottom half of the corner, other than the one big low, it was just where the repair panels went in that needed some work and the shape of the corner was off down low.

Then I got started on this mess and that’s when I nearly had a mental break down. I’ve called in some backup and I’m going to have Wiz around for a few days next week for some help/guidance/moral support.

I think I’ll bail on the short and long sides until Ian is free, so I’ll probably get started on the nose tomorrow. I think it’s pretty good already so hopefully not too much to do but I thought the short side was ok so what do I know

P.S Brad did you figure out a way to stop images being in their side other than turning your phone?

Matt I'm pretty sure I still have a stud gun tucked away somewhere. It welds a little button head brass stud on that you can tug with a slide hammer.

Welcome to borrow it if you need.....

Let the puns begin!

Thanks mate. I actually have one, it’s been really good, still not easy to get the sharp dents out though.

I painted the inside of the nose/back of the dash dove blue but I’ve changed my mind. Something a little different instead.

A bit of a short day today, I had one of the kids home and I had to do the school run (before you start Wiz, Tuesday is one of my days every week).

After crying myself to sleep last night over the short side I got stuck into the nose today. It didn’t look too bad to start off with….

Then a little blocking and you start to see all the lows.

It actually came up really well, focussed on the drivers side to start.

Then the passenger side, probably should have spent a day on the nose before welding it back on, would have been much better access.

Had to steal one of the kids mini footballs to do the lower nose, wasn’t completely pushed in but couldn’t get a dolly low enough so started with the footy and then moved to the pin puller.

I think I’ll get the nose finished tomorrow and then onto doglegs and removables. I need to sort out door gaps too but cargo doors are almost dialed so hopefully that doesn’t take too long.

Good progress.

There’ll be nothing left for the Wiz to do at this pace.

Started a bit late today. Drove in peak hour traffic to the only supercheap that supposedly had the pop up gazebo I wanted for a spray booth to be told they didn’t have any

Sorted an even better temporary booth and it’s on its way in the post.

Got the nose all finished off except a small hole to weld after going too hard with the stud puller. Couldn’t help myself with a badge pic

Then straightened out the doglegs, both bulged out in the middle.

After some work

Bulkhead was next, just lots of little dings and one oil can to sort

After
IMG_0327.jpeg

Wanted to start on the cargo doors but not really sure where to start. They look pregnant without any obvious accident damage, will be very hard to get them super straight I think.

Did some work on the engine lid, no pics but realised the nut plate I put in the hanger I somehow put the wrong thread in. I’ll see if I can get some different screws but if not I’ll need to open the hanger up again.

No bus work tomorrow, I have some family stuff to do. Don’t worry Cheeseboard, I’ll tack an extra day on at the end.

Looking great Matt. Smashing it out. Amazing what you can get done when the kids are at school!
