got my head around the best way to start the welding on the side so off i went , tacked up and in place all inner sills and jacking points done on this side inner bracing in just need to finish the seams and i can move further down the side and get wheel arch sorted

fk it just killed my welder after 11yrs , now i get to buy a new one :) , just found receipt when i bought it ..2nd may 2001 creepy wonder if warranty is still good

fk yeah so will be getting a lincoln 180c even better and $895 on special too as i paid $1000 for the 170t back in the day

not a chance this is done by nats as i dont have a gearbox or half the bus solid so going to take a little more time than hoped ...eh already blueslipped 3 cars this year so pretty happy i havent been slacking :)

got the old girl on rollers and cleaned the shed up a bit and decided to start on the straight axle, the way i do it is by using a short beetle end casting and tube and extend it so the bearing sits level with the long axle long casting tube , which is about 28.5 mm longer the only downside is the drum sits about 3mm further out but it hasnt caused any dramas as everything still makes contact

to keep it aligned i use a sleeve inside the tubes

and the box I'm using is an "AB" 1300 twin port (thanks Animal) with 3.88 ring n pinion welded 3rd n 4th gears and 0.89 4th so should have a good freeway speed :)
