My 61 single

Post by slow n low »

Hey all this is my 61 single cab / work in progress. I now live in Hobart and it lives in launceston, so i don't get to work on it as much as i would like. Had it sand blasted before christmas, plenty of panel work to go. I have already replaced a number of tray cross members, internal hinge plates for the treasure chest doors. and a few other things.

As you can see, the front is a little messy and contained a fair bit of bog. I do have a new clip to go in, when time permits.

does anyone know if there is a reproduction panel to go behind the cab?

hey daveo,
I have bought some panels from jeremy fish, i think his edds business partner. I will probably machine up some dollies to try and get it nice.
I have started to acquire the steel to make a rotissery to do the under side. steel price is nuts at the moment though. you must of bought your steel at the right time.

Did i mention i am putting in a second treasure chest door.

hey all,
Today i cut out the fuel bay floor, it was a little like swiss cheese. i am going to do a similar repair to Robk and put in some checker plate as the car is going to be a driver and it is not really visible. Just waiting on the checker plate now.

i have also made some new bpost sections as both sides had completly rotted out. I got some profiled zincseal plate and formed them over a timber former as seen in the picture. I have also made two new fuel tank support brackets.
