Brett,
I'm hoping it'll be ready in about 3 months all being equal, I've learned that you need to be patient and let things take the time they take, I'm in no rush, I'm happy with things progressing as they are.
The shed was finished today, sparky will be in this week to wire it and sort lighting.
Engine will be ready hopefully this week but again, no rush and in the next few weeks if fine by me.
IRS kit is next, I'm still home from work at moment so I have managed to get the hubs etc to powder coating.
Paint and panel is coming along well, nearly there then she comes home to her new kennel.
Be nice to have it ready for a few shows up this way later in the year, maybe the show on the bayside as it's 1st outing..
I'll put up a few pics of the new kennel and a few bits I've got recently.
My have to move it along after it's finished, these 55's are so common now

Ok, Kennel is finished now, all passed by council.
Was lucky enough to pick up some dexion bits from the tip store as well as some board and made myself a nice solid bench, all up cost $30, bargain.
Got my brake bits back today from powder coat, engine will be ready by next weekend, more work done this week on panel. Inner sill fitted, treasure chest repair section is trial fitted and ready to weld in, all coming along nicely.
Anyway, a few pics of the new kennel / man cave, sorry about quality of pics.
Kennel is 6.5 x 3.4

Another update...was hoping to have it back home and in it's kennel but what with one thing and another, anyways, it's damn close to the end of it's time in the panel shop now, another short burst and it's done and then time to come home to it's new kennel.
I'm very very happy with everything so far, I need to source a few more bits and bobs and I have pretty much everything sorted now.
A lot of help ( again ) on the way, special thanks to Frog for his kindness, Rick ( Bluebus ) for spotting the Bosch starter and Cv's @ Wynuum, what a bargain ! And of course Dion, yet to have that beer mate, but can't be long before it happens mate, perhaps a weekend up the coast is in order ?
Anyway, here's some more shots of the metal work progress, now have some paint on but that's still got to be " aged "
The old floor with a bit of tin work..
And the new, hand made..
Old indicators holes patched and welded..
The front end done
Another piece , hand made...
All welded and painted...
And the other side...all done
Going up tomorrow with the final piece of the jigsaw....
Hope you like it....

Thanks for the kind words Gents.
Been up to see it again today, so close now to the finish line and then the fun starts at home.
A lot of the old repairs have been left, the scratches, dents and vintage repairs give this old girl a lot of character.
Paint matching has been a nightmare as at some point years ago the Ute was painted by hand with a lovely brush, there are about 3 shades of blue on her as well as the red oxide coming through...
