Well trying to get back into it, damaged my knee 2 weeks ago so anything below waist height is a problem. So what can I do sitting down , well take the L/H door off and fix that little bit of rust in the corner and then the inside frame and there goes sunday. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get onto the sills

Know the knee is getting better I have managed to get down to floor level but getting up is another story, Planning needed,take all necessary tools needed for the job, still took most of the day to remove sill outer and inner and start to mockup new ones. The inners are folded by me ( That's why 2 piece ,folder not big enough) and the outers are repro modded to fit.
Hopefully next week will fit sills and then onto the other side (Oh Joy) Then the bottom of the windscreen , bottom of the nose then onto the roof and gutters.

Been a while so I thought I would post some pics, have been working on the old girl, nearly all the way around now, the bottom 6 inches that is. Soon I will start work on some of the issues above the waistline. So started the right hand side sill, cut out the old one, then out with the inner sill,then made the front jacking point and support and before people say why not buy them, well I would love to but all this stuff is custom. I have managed to use a repro long sill panel X 2 because there not long enough.





So with a bit of luck I will have this finished in the next week, the sill that is. Then onto other areas.

Been a while so I thought I would post on some of the progress. Finished the wheels so had them powder coated and new tyres fitted, safety rims all round so tubeless tyres fitted,15X 5 on the front and 15 X 7 reversed on the rear.


Welded up most of the front just need to grind and finish off.


Inside I have fitted second battery, new water tank and electrical centre.

I forgot how big this thing is.
It will be great to see this at a VW show one day.

The conehead on the left is tonz magonz a fellow member on here. It was nice to have the guys drop in for a gander and a gossip. Yep work is progressing, she moved out of the shed under its own steam 2 weeks ago.
