I agree, anyone have a set of door tops?

I am also chasing some old safari windows??

I have come to a decision and going to go a subby conversion, looking for a 2.5L.

I won't be able to head back to the bus until the 19th due to other committments.

So will have have some further updates then.

Mate, if you have to do that much in the way of repairs you may as well go the Subie motor.
I struggled up a steep pass this arvo and my '67 was really wheezing with its dual Kadron 1600dp.
Nothing short of a Subie would've made it easy.
My brother has a beach buggy with an ej25 and it kicks arse.
You'll want to rebuild your gearbox though.

It sounds like a good conversion.

But as you can see it is still a bit until we get to that. Have to think ahead though.

We are getting there.... Stay tuned!!

Oh, for sure you have a way to go.
And you'll have a much easier conversion than he did.
He had to have a sub frame built for his floor pan and fiddle with a lot of stuff so he could fit 30" tyres on the back!
If you're interested in looking at it more check this link out......

Scroll to the bottom and read his advice on Subie conversions.
He's currently trying to convince me to do it on my '67.

This may sound like an odd thing but one of the guys on here had a disc brake conversion done on his '67 Panel that used Commodore discs.
As a result the stud pattern really opened up his options on rims.
It certainly something to consider as your modifications will be quite extensive.
Mind you offset is usually the issue with Splits.

I aint going to argue with you on the amount of rust Gazza and I am sure we will find more, it is one big jigsaw puzzle.

I spoke with a fella who tells me he has a set of 18s that will fit onto the Split no problem. He knew about the offset etc and showed me a picture in his shop. They were a nice mag too.

When I get closer to that stage I will find out more on them.

Finally got back to the bus on Monday and spent some time out there.
I have a fella staying with me at the moment from Townsville and he came out to lend a hand.
He didn't mind his photo taken either...
Cutting out the bottoms of the doors.
